Today, March 8, is International Women's Day

March 8 is celebrated globally as the International Women's Day. It is a day set aside to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

According to the United Nations, The 2017 theme for International Women’s Day, focuses on “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030”.
In her message for International Women's Day, UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka highlights the importance of starting change in the home in order to "construct a different world of work for women"

Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo turns 60 today

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, turns 60 today.

He is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Professor of Law and until his inauguration as Vice President, a Senior Partner with SimmonsCooper Partners, a commercial law practice.

Yemi Osinbajo was also the Pastor in charge of the Lagos Province 48, Olive Tree provincial headquarter parish, Ikoyi before his inauguration into office as the Vice President of Nigeria. He however still insists that he remains the pastor-in-charge of the said province and he is only on loan to the Federal Government.
