11 Sure Tips To Having A More Productive Life

It is hard to ignore the stranger beside you that is bopping excitedly to loud music in the traffic. IT is a very sunny afternoon but your windows are down because your fuel gauge tells you can’t use the airconditioner for a while and the next filling station is about 15mins away from where you are. Given the traffic jam you might as well add another 30mins.

The sound of different honks and chatters from different passersby make it really hard to think. Your mind finally finds a place of ‘rest’ in dissatisfying thoughts of how your time could be put into more productive use. You find yourself making the all familiar analysis on all the things that could have been done.

You know this trend so well because it very well could be your life. Thing is you are not alone, you have a large company. It sometimes feel like time is on some sort of hover board, we find it very hard to keep up. Was it not yesterday that we celebrated the New Year, how come the calendar is telling of a day in September?

The film stars Selma star, David Oyelowo as Nichols and Kate Mara as Smith.

He adds, "I [also] don't think you have to lose Christians as an audience in order to tell a well-produced, well-written and hopefully well-acted story that can speak to a broader audience.

Pastor Averts Crisis When Crazed Man with Gun Enters Church

A Texas pastor has averted a potential tragedy and led his congregation to safety after a crazed man with a gun entered his church.

Christian Today reports that Rasheed Abdul Aziz walked into Corinth Missionary Baptist Church announcing he was “a man of Islam.” Aziz avowed there were demons chasing him and that God had authorized him to kill Christians and Jews.

"Every hair on my neck just stood up," said the Reverend John D Johnson III, the church’s pastor. "It was almost like you could just like feel the presence of just negative energy."

Fortunately, Johnson was a former parole officer and had training in verbal de-escalation. Aziz entered the conference room in which Johnson was working, so Johnson attempted to calm him down before Aziz could enter another room where church members were meeting.

“Immediately, just like clockwork, it kicked in,” Johnson said, referring to his former training.

Aziz calmed down due to Johnson’s efforts, but when Johnson noticed the gun in Aziz’s pocket, he made an excuse and left the room to alert his church members that there was danger.

"We got a problem. Get everybody out," he told them.

At least 8 People dead in Maiduguri blasts

Three blasts struck the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, a military spokesman said on Sunday, a day after a new audio message purportedly from Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau accused the army of lying about successes against the militants.

A hospital source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said at least eight dead bodies had been recovered after the blasts in a mosque and areas near the building on the edge of the city center, with many more feared dead and around 50 people injured.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosions. However, they bore the hallmarks of the Islamist militant group which has waged a six-year insurgency to form a state adhering to strict Islamic laws, a conflict that has killed thousands.

The audio recording, said to be of Boko Haram's leader, criticized Nigeria's military for saying it had recaptured villages that had fallen into the group's hands.

"They have lied about us saying that they have retaken our territories, taken weapons and driven us away," says the recording posted online on Saturday. "They are actually the ones whom we have driven away. They are all liars."

Jesus Rides A Bike In Novel ‘Jesus in Jeans’ by Bill Bidiaque

Meet Jay Elion; rebel born of a virgin. He rides a Ducati Diavel AMG and his twelve-man crew rides in a Mercedes Benz sprinter. He’s lived through a train wreck, four assassination attempts and he’s defied every known natural law.”

Documentary filmmaker and writer Bill Bidiaque, debuts his Christian fiction/Christian thriller novel, Jesus in Jeans, based on the life of Jesus, cast in the 21st Century. Jesus in Jeans is published as a WestBow Press title; WestBow Press is a division of Thomas Nelson Publishing and Zondervan.

Jay Elion claims he’s been sent to save Earth from damnation, his mission beginning in Y’Isra. This pits him against the Syndicate of Religious Lawyers, the Moranê Empire, and the Y’Isran patriarchy – who all have their own interests to guard.

To fulfil his mission, Jay organizes campaigns across Y’Isra with his twelve-man crew and his growing popularity threatens the fabric of power that the three antagonists have woven. His exploits attract several assassination attempts but Jay scales through them in stride.

We journey with Jay, getting a modern perspective of the life Jesus lived; like 2,000 years ago, Jay speaks to the elements and they obey, whether he’s on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner or a sport fisher yacht.

Senior Religious Leaders In Nigeria Call For Dialogue To Build Peace

A delegation from International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) visited Nigeria to search for opportunities to expand its involvement in peace building in the country through the use of inter-religious dialogue.

The delegation – led by KAICIID Deputy Secretary General for External Relations, Ambassador Alvaro Albacete, and Senior Adviser, Professor Mohammed Abu-Nimer, with Ambassador Yahaya Lawal and Dr. Dodik Ariyanto from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – met with more than 20 senior religious leaders, government officials and civil society representatives during a week-long trip to Abuja.

The trip was organized with the assistance the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and KAICIID’s local partner, the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).

Ambassador Albacete said that KAICIID aims to work with international and civil society partners to support interreligious dialogue in Nigeria.

“We had a very promising visit to Abuja and discussed a number of areas where we think the Centre will be able to assist. We expect to make an announcement about these initiatives very soon,” he said.

Nigeria is currently battling militant group Boko Haram and faces increased tensions between Christians and Muslims, as well as along tribal lines. The country has almost equally large Christian and Muslim populations, which are also regionally demarcated. Speaking generally, Christianity is widely practised in the southern part of the country, and Islam is the majority religion in the north.

Nigeria claims successes against Boko Haram

A new multination military offensive is causing Boko Haram to surrender "en masse," a Nigerian military official claimed Sept. 13, just as humanitarian aid groups said Boko Haram attacks were creating a major hunger crisis in the region.

"The Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Nigerian Airforce and other security agencies will continue to devise and implement effective strategies to bring Boko Haram terrorism to a speedy end," the International Business Times quoted Colonel Sani Usman, Nigeria's acting director of Army Public Relations. "It will also continue to receive surrendering suspects and assures innocent ones among them that surrender is the only option open to them."

A special military force of 8,700 soldiers from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Benin mobilized against Boko Haram in February, and Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has given newly appointed military leaders just months to stop the terrorists.

Miracles at Pastor Kumuyi’s Crusades

Since the flag-off of the crusade, Kumuyi has taken the message of change of life, attitude and character to Gbagada, Ketu, Ikorodu, FESTAC, Isolo, Ajegunle as at Tuesday. He still has Alimosho, Mushin, Epe, Agege, Badagry and other areas to visit this month for the sole reason of propagating the gospel of Christ and to give hope to the hopeless.

So far, more than 100,000 have attended the crusades in Ikeja, Gbagada, Ketu, Ikorodu, FESTAC, Isolo and Ajegunle, with over 10,000 converts harvested for Christ, which signified a change of lifestyle from bad to good.

The atmosphere was charged, all roads led to the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria. From every nook and cranny of Lagos, they came rushing to the famous college. Both the good and the bad thronged the venue amidst tight security as police at the gate made use of bomb detectors to screen the large crowd surging into the college. On the expansive land of the Police College, a large dais was raised, garnished with modern allure. A band of mixed musical instruments played behind the podium as the choir thrilled the congregation with scintillating choruses in praises to God. Shortly after, an SUV pulled in front of the dais and a man stepped out of it as jubilation erupted among the large crowd at the college, the man they have been waiting for, the mouthpiece of God has just arrived.

The event is the flag-off of the Lagos City-wide Crusade, being orchestrated by the DCLM in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN to harvest converts unto Jesus Christ. Over 15,000 congregation had thronged the venue for the kick-off of the great event, which will take Kumuyi round each of the old 20 Local Government in Lagos to hold crusade. With the theme: “Supernatural Power of God’s Wonders,” the crusade is packaged to showcase God’s supernatural power to harness souls, deliver the oppressed, break yoke, heal the sick, among others.

'I've Conducted More Funerals than Weddings' - Anglican Archbishop

A clergyman in Plateau state, Rt. Rev. Benjamin Kwashi, Nigeria, told protestors that during the last 15 years he has conducted more funerals than weddings, according to Morning Star News.

Addressing hundreds of demonstrators at the Plateau House of Assembly on Aug. 31, the Anglican archbishop of Jos, said the Christian funerals resulted from attacks by Muslim Fulani herdsmen working with Boko Haram jihadists.

"As a pastor, I have conducted more burial services of those killed through attacks than weddings and naming ceremonies since 2001," he said. "It's sad to note that most victims of the attacks are harmless children, some infants, women and youth."

“The Nigerian government must end the killings. Attention should not be concentrated only in the northeast alone, as people too are being killed here in Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa and Kaduna states."
On the very day of the protest, armed herdsmen had killed five Christians in Tanabu village, Gashish Distric and Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

Quoting Bonhoeffer's "silence in the face of evil is itself evil," protestor Paul Teyei said the Nigerian government's silence about the killings shows its silent support for the ongoing jihad against Nigeria's Christians.

Terrorist Violence Deprives Children From School; Government Asks Christian Ministry For Help

School children in Nigeria are returning to school next week - but not the hundreds of thousands of children displaced by terrorist violence. A native ministry is taking a step in faith to find education at least for some.

Islamic extremist rebel group Boko Haram stepped up attacks on civilians after Muhammadu Buhari took office as president of Nigeria on May 29, casting a shadow over the government's recovery of territory earlier this year and adding to the more than 1.5 million internally displaced people (IDPs). About half of Nigeria's displaced people are children, and an indigenous ministry is focusing on their needs.

"School children have been out of school now for many months or even years," said the director of the ministry based in the capital, Abuja. "Can we allow these children in the IDP camps to be without schools, when we Christians have the opportunity to show the love of Christ and empower them by giving them schooling?"

Nigerian Primate Calls For Fervent Prayers As Another Bishop Disappears

The car of a Nigerian bishop kidnapped earlier this week has been discovered, prompting 'fervent prayers for his immediate release' from the most senior Nigerian church leader.

Rt Rev Moses Bukpe-Tabwayen, Bishop of Gwagwalada, was taken while travelling from Abuja to Onitsha on 3rd September.

His captors are demanding 40 million Nigerian Naira (approximately £132,000) for his release.

The police authorities in Delta State found the Bishop's car along Onitcha-Ugbo/Ewohimi, where it had been abandoned with its ignition still on. The case has been transferred to the Special Anti-kidnapping Squad/ tracking team, who have instigated a man hunt.

Bishop Bukpe-Tabwayem is one of the youngest bishops in the Church of Nigeria and was consecrated in April 2015.

Discover Stephen Centre - Providing Education, Succour to Boko Haram Victims

Long before the rise of Boko Haram insurgency in the northern part of Nigeria, especially in the North-East, Stephen's Centre established about 15 years ago had been giving hope and life to people and especially rendered homeless and orphans from various parts of the country.
As many thousands of lives have been lost and property worth several millions of naira lost to insurgents and religious strife, several people have also been rendered hopeless, homeless and resident in various Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps in the country.

Aside this, many women became widows while several children were orphaned. And often times, especially in this part of the world, managing trauma of such victims is not always given a priority by the government.
Among humanitarian organisations that have taken up the challenge to provide succour and hope for these categories of victims across the country is the Voice of Christian Martyrs of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, a particular individual within the top echelon of VOCMN, Rev. Isaac Newton- Wusu took it upon himself to establish a special centre that had been offering refuge for children of insurgents' victims from the north.

$9.3 Million Arms Deal: Leave Oritsejafor Alone, Northern Christians Tells Buhari!

A group of northern Christians, under the auspices of Northern Christian Youth Solidarity Movement for Emancipation, Justice and Self Determination, has condemned what it described as campaign of calumny against the leader of the Christian community and President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, over the $9.3 million botched arms deal in South Africa involving a private aircraft allegedly owned by him, describing it as reprehensible.

The group therefore called on President Muhammadu Buhari to order an investigation of the personalities charged with national security during the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan to ascertain the truth.

The group also recommended that if found guilty after the probe, the perpetrators should be punished in line with the law.

In a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Mr. James Gani, the group also lamented what it described as the orchestrated attempts to bring Oritsejafor into public opprobrium, “because of his consistent inclination to speaking the truth notwithstanding whose ox is gored.”

Buhari Must Win Fight Against Corruption- Kumuyi

The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi says he is praying for President Muhammadu Buhari to succeeded in the war against corruption and other reforms he is undertaking in the country.

Kumuyi, who spoke shortly after the Lagos City-Wide Crusade organised by the church in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigerian (PFN), at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria said Nigerians should support the president rather than complaining. He said the president needed the wisdom of God to pull through in the fight against corruption.

“My prayer for the country is that the mighty change, supernatural change that God has done for individuals, He should do for our country and you see, God works in various ways and as we see all the things happening, fighting against corruption and all that, we need the wisdom of God, power of God and the support of God."

“My prayer is that God will assist the government to actually pull through until we get to the end of the tunnel in Jesus name. A change is coming and the change has started already,” he said.
The man of God encouraged Nigerians to put their trust in God as there is hope for the nation.

Buhari Will Be the Best President Nigeria Has Ever Had - Emmanuel Valentine

Emmanuel Valentine, General Overseer, Mega Fire Ministry, Kaduna, in this interview with Chinyere Abiaziem, speaks about his calling and the state of the nation.

How do people react to you as a Prophet from the Northern part of Nigeria?

The fact is that, it has not been so easy for people to really accept you as a good Christian, pastor, or prophet from the North; people generally believe that Islam is for the North while Christianity is for West, South and East. The truth is that when a Northerner accepts Jesus Christ; he accepts it with all his heart, I mean he accepts it in totality and he is not easily swayed. I tell you the same fanatism that runs in a Northern Muslim, runs in a Northern Christian because when a Northerner accepts Christ, he accepts with all his heart. A Northern Christian can die for the sake of Christ. They are like the old time Apostles and disciples who cannot be easily manipulated.

I tell you that as a prophet, I can die for the cause of Christ because I am for him forever.

How do you see Buhari's administration?

I tell you frankly that President Buhari will do very well as the President of Nigeria. He will eventually emerge as the best President Nigeria has ever had. He is there as the President to correct a lot of things that has gone wrong. He has publicly declared his asset, meaning that he has no intention to embezzle from Nigeria's sick account. Public Declaration of his asset shows good intention and these promises good for the nation. The major problem that has halted the growth of Nigeria is

Gospel artiste, Prophetess Nonnie Talks About Transparency & Accountability in New Single

President of the Nigerian Women in Clergy and Gospel Artist, Prophetess Nonnie Roberson, on Thursday stressed the need for transparency and accountability by Nigerians holding public offices.

Roberson, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sideline of her newly released song titled ’Zion take your place,’ urged youths to always hold leaders accountable.

She said that the era of keeping quiet over happenings in government was over, saying that righteous persons, especially Christians, must take interest in government.

Roberson, who referred to the new generation of believers as Zion in her song, said that they must make haste to take their place both on earth and in heaven.

According to the gospel singer, the kingdom of God suffers violence and only the violence takes it by force, hence the need for believers to take active interest in the wellbeing of the nation.

She said that the song which was produced by Joseph Fabs, was mastered and mixed by the popular director, Zeeno Foster, also known as magic fingers.

Roberson said that the song was embedded in metaphor and calls for the radicalization of the gospel of Christ.

Boko Haram Claims 56 Lives in Remote Village of Nigeria

The Islamist militant group Boko Haram killed 56 people in the remote village of Baanu in Borno state.

According to christianitydaily.com, the news was confirmed by the governor Kashim Shettima during a meeting with the parents of 219 abducted girls from Chibok on the 500th day of their captivity.

"I want us all to understand that the Boko Haram crisis is a calamity that has befallen us," Shettima said. "The insurgents do not discriminate whether somebody is Christian or Muslim, neither do they have any tribal sympathy or affiliations. Just yesterday they killed 56 people in Baanu village of Nganzai local government. As I am speaking to you their corpses are still littered on the street of the village because virtually everyone in the village had to run for their lives."
